Orfeo

Blue-green monotones with gold

5652

ORFEO draws its name from Mariano Fortuny’s home, Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei (now the Museo Fortuny), in turn named for the mythological Orpheus, the ancient Greek musician, poet, and prophet whose music charmed both flora and fauna into dance. In Mariano Fortuny, the parallel is obvious: an artist who moved seamlessly between disciplines, whose work enchanted every material he touched. ORFEO's botanical design translates that spirit into a frolicking, layered field of foliage, forms in motion, filled with rhythm and vitality. Its botanical vocabulary is lush rather than formal, expressive rather than symmetrical. The jewel-toned colorways of aqua, coral, deep graphite, give ORFEO a richness that suits it equally to upholstery, drapery, cushions, and wall panels in rooms that welcome visual complexity.

From Venice, with love

Established in 1921, Fortuny is now the last operating factory in Venice. Built with impossible ingenuity like the city itself, our artisans create textiles that reflect the city's engineering brilliance and timeless beauty.

The fabric of life

Our textiles elevate noble cotton into something as luminous as silk, as rich as velvet—yet made to last. Through secret techniques passed down for generations, our artisans layer color and light to create depth and emotion no machine can replicate. Each piece gains precious patina with time, like fine wine.

Made by hand

Behind every Fortuny textile lives a human story. Expert artisans in our Giudecca factory practice methods known only to them—working by hand to print each pattern, coaxing color into cotton through patient rituals perfected over a century. No two pieces emerge identical. Each bears the subtle signature of its maker's touch, the irreplicable beauty of work guided by eye, heart, and hand.

Expert guidance

Just a call away, our team brings over a century of collective expertise—fluent in the language of interior design, of drape and tension, of light and proportion. Every day we partner with designers to navigate complexities and achieve the extraordinary architecture of beauty.

Artisanal secrets

Behind the locked gates of our Venice factory on the Giudecca, a handful of chosen artisans practice centuries-old techniques, shrouded in mystery and protected by our founder's will. Using original machinery and processes established over a century ago, they conjure luminous textiles leavened with color and ancient wisdom.

Fortuny Bespoke gives designers the freedom to collaborate with our world class artisans to create custom Fortuny fabrics.

Work directly with our Venice team, backed by a century of expertise, to bring your vision of pattern and color to life through bespoke designs, detailed renderings, and private consultations.

Invented in Venice. Made in Venice

Designed with the italian touch, from start to finish. Built on the grounds of an ancient convent, the inner workings of the factory remain secret 100 years later. Our founder's will holds that the techniques used to create the iconic fabrics were never to be revealed publicly.
