MORESCO is one of Fortuny's foundational patterns, introduced in the early 1900s as one of the first designs Mariano Fortuny printed, and still among the most popular in the catalog. Its dense motif of geometric and organic forms draws from the Moorish heritage of his birthplace, Granada, Spain: a city whose Alhambra palace represents the apex of Medieval Iberian and North African ornamental culture, best expressed in the mosaic tilework and arabesque structure of its walls and ceilings. MORESCO translates that visual intelligence into a large-scale printed surface that reads as architecturally complete at any scale.
Part of THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE collection, available in the jewel-tone palette that defines the collection.
