Marmorino
Siena & pale grey
5800
MARMORINO takes its name from the traditional Venetian plaster finish — a surface that mimics the qualities of stone through layered application rather than actual marble. In the SECTILE 1729 collection, MARMORINO does the inverse: it translates the inlaid marble patterns of the altar of I Gesuiti directly onto printed cotton, capturing in striking detail the confident, bold linework of the church's stone decoration. The result is a surface that is austere without being somber — high contrast lines against a bright, textured field whose organic character (random horizontal and vertical repeat, organic scale) gives the design the quality of the stone itself: no two installations are identical. Produced in collaboration with Venetian Heritage.
Part of the SECTILE 1729 collection, inspired by the baroque marble patterns of Venice's I Gesuiti Church.
