Barberini

BARBERINI takes its name from one of Rome's most powerful Baroque dynasties, Italian nobility who rose from Florentine merchants to the Papal seat in the 17th century. Their Roman palazzo, completed by Bernini in 1633, concealed a dramatic secret garden from the streets outside. BARBERINI translates that hidden garden into textile: oversized flowers and dramatic foliage dominate the field; their forms rendered in the deep color characteristic of Fortuny's cotton printing. A fleur-de-lis appears in the repeat — a quiet nod to the family's Florentine roots. Large-scale and unapologetically decorative, BARBERINI rewards generous applications: statement upholstery, expansive wall panels, and floor-length drapery where the full garden unfolds.
