Altare
Fior di pesco & copper

ALTARE was produced in collaboration with Venetian Heritage, drawn directly from the inlaid marble steps that lead to the altar of the church of Santa Maria Assunta, known as I Gesuiti. One of Venice's most exquisite Baroque churches, I Gesuiti's interior is a masterclass in the possibilities of stone: its surfaces draped and folded as though made of fabric, its geometry bold and graphic against the richly decorated field. ALTARE takes that paradox, marble that behaves like textile, and returns it to cloth. The bold, graphic lines of the altar steps become a printed cotton pattern of architectural clarity: structured, monumental, and quietly powerful. The geometric repeat holds its own at any scale, from intimate upholstery to full wall installations.
Part of the SECTILE 1729 collection, inspired by the baroque marble patterns of Venice's Gesuiti Church.
